Yann Tiersen is pleased to announce his first U.S. tour dates since 2014. He will play Washington DC’s Lincoln Theatre on December 5 and Los Angeles’s Theatre at Ace Hotel on December 8. Tickets are available today at 10am local time. Visit yanntiersen.com for further information.
Last September, Yann released EUSA, a beautiful homage to his home on the island of Ushant. The collection of 10 solo piano pieces form a musical map of Ushant (“Eusa” in the local Breton language) which is positioned in the Celtic Sea between Brittany and Cornwall. Each track was conceived in and named after a location on the island. Yann then took field recordings of the particular locales to Studio 1 at Abbey Road and paired them with his piano compositions.
Listen to the magic of EUSA at Spotify or Apple Music now.
Keeping with the ecological and adventurous spirit of EUSA, Yann recently held a competition for fans to recreate the album’s songs in a variety of innovative ways. Categories for the competition included Best Non-Piano Performance, Best Location, and Best Overall Performance as determined by a public vote. The entries were truly incredible with some participants performing EUSA tracks using stylophones, modular synthesizers, strings or while sitting by rivers and mountain tops. Check out the performances and see the winners HERE.
