Following the release of EUSA, a brand new album of piano compositions recorded live at Abbey Road, Yann Tiersen returns to the UK for a very special evening at the Royal Albert Hall, London on 30 October 2017.
Performing tracks from EUSA alongside classics from throughout his career, including compositions featured in the film Amelie (2001, Dir. Jean-Pierre Jeunet), this will be Tiersen’s biggest UK show to date and his first since 2016’s sold out European tour that included two nights at the Barbican, two at the Edinburgh International Festival plus performances at Amsterdam’s Carré Theatre, the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Philharmonie de Paris.
Tickets for the Royal Albert Hall are onsale at 9am on Fri 4 Nov from: www.royalalberthall.com, full tour dates below.
First conceived and released as a book of sheet music, EUSA was recorded in Studio 1 at Abbey Road, watch a brand new film of Tiersen recording Yuzin here: http://po.st/YannTiersenYuzinLive
Prior to Yann Tiersen recording the album, a film of him performing ‘Porz Goret’ on his home island of Ushant (‘Eusa’ in Breton) has inspired fans to record their own versions of the song and now Tiersen is launching a competition to find the best and most interesting interpretations of tracks from EUSA. There are three categories: Best Overall Performance, Most Interesting Location and Best Non-Piano Performance, fans are asked to upload their interpretations to and three winners, chosen by Yann Tiersen, will win a signed toy piano (the same as Tiersen has been performing with on the current tour), plus signed EUSA goodies. The competition closes on 13 January, winners will be announced on 23 January. Further information available from http://myeusa.com
