Polly Scattergood has unveiled the video to “Wanderlust”. Explaining the track, and the video, Scattergood has said that it’s about “… that moment when you break free from reality and escape everything – even by just shutting your eyes for a moment, or shutting the door to the outside the world. I have found some incredible places behind closed doors and been on some of my favourite adventures inside my mind.”
The video, which reveals something new on each viewing, was directed by NYSU (http://www.nysufilms.com/), the Spanish video collective who recently created a series of films for Scattergood’s labelmates VCMG, who explain that they aimed “to capture the spirit of the song with this story about a girl that wants to escape from her past”.
“Wanderlust”, out now, features remixes by How To Dress Well and Charli XCX. Each remixer on the “Wanderlust” EP embraced the affecting elements of this spinning, luring, lush soundscape, launching the track into new dimensions.
Polly Scattergood’s trademark mix of storytelling and soul-searching weaves its web throughout Arrows, out on Mute on 17 June 2013. Recorded during time spent in Berlin and Norfolk, the album’s first single “Wanderlust” embodies the sonic youthfulness that is the heart of every Scattergood song.
