“Arrows deserves to make Scattergood a star” – MOJO ****
Mute artist Polly Scattergood will release her second album Arrows on 21October 2013. Written in London, France, Berlin and Norfolk, Arrows features Polly Scattergood’s signature blend of storytelling and soul-searching, but also looks outwards and heavenwards, spinning an enchanting web of sonic playfulness while stretching for new skylines.
“This album was my ‘arrow’ — pointing me in the right direction after I was lost for a while. This feels like where I want to be as an artist.“ Polly Scattergood
The album’s lead track and second single Cocoon will be released via Mute on 4 November. The video for Cocoon was directed by the award-winning Madrid-based video collective NYSU; this is the second video they have directed for Polly having cemented the relationship on the Wanderlust video shoot.

Bursting from the “cocoon” of the studio, Polly is also spreading her wings live, but “things have changed a bit,” she affirms: “With the old songs, I had to adopt characters. The big costumes gave me courage to get onstage. I remember gluing bits of diamantes onto feathers for weeks before a gig. Now I’m more confident in the sounds and in myself and where I am in my life. I’m very proud of what I’ve made.” Her dates continue with a show at Koko on 27 September
