M83 have announced an exciting contest for filmmakers worldwide, providing an opportunity to create a music video for “Steve McQueen,” taken from their critically acclaimed album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming.
M83 have left the artistic direction for the video completely open to interpretation. The only guidance from Anthony Gonzalez on the theme of “Steve McQueen” is that “It’s not about the actor!”
The winning video will be chosen by M83 via M83’s website and Genero.tv. The winner will receive £3,000 and have their work used as the official music video for “Steve McQueen.”
The competition is being run in partnership with Genero.tv, a platform generating official music videos and videos for brands via a global filmmaking community. Co-founder Mick Entwisle said, “We’re big M83 fans so we’re really excited to be able to work with him. This is a great opportunity for filmmakers and “Steve McQueen” is such a great track so we really can’t wait to see what people come up with.”
Filmmakers can download the song and enter the competition at http://genero.tv/m83/. Entries close September 10.
